Our Journey
We’re Julian and Tom – two lifelong friends who share a passion for travel, adventure, and good design. After countless trips with bulky bags, overpacked carry-ons, and shoulder pain from poor ergonomics, we realized: the perfect backpack didn’t exist. So, we decided to build it ourselves — and that’s how the LIFTBAG™ was born.
The Turning Point
The idea sparked after a flight where we layered on three sweaters just to avoid excess baggage fees. We asked ourselves: Why isn’t there a smarter, sleeker way to pack? We wanted a backpack that combined space-saving function, modern style, and stress-free travel. The Liftbag® became our answer — a compression-ready, carry-on-approved bag that adapts to real life.
From Idea to Reality
In early 2021, we got to work. We sketched. We prototyped. We failed. And then we tried again. We didn’t just want “another” travel backpack — we wanted something truly game-changing. So we developed an integrated compression system, weatherproof materials, and ergonomic comfort — and tested every version ourselves. The result: a bag that performs under pressure and looks great doing it.
Building Something Better
Design mattered — but so did everyday usability. We spent over a year perfecting the LIFTBAG™ with help from product engineers, travel enthusiasts, and quality suppliers. Each zipper, pocket, and strap was selected with purpose. No compromises. Just smart, durable design that works in real life — whether you're commuting, backpacking, or hopping on a last-minute flight.
The Design Process
We believe that simplicity is powerful. That’s why every LIFTBAG™ is designed with a clean, minimalist look — but packed with smart features where it matters. From day one, we’ve prioritized intuitive functionality, premium materials, and innovative technology. In 2022, we took a major step forward by filing our first patent for our integrated compression system — a reflection of our drive to keep pushing boundaries. For us, great design means finding the perfect balance between performance, aesthetics, and everyday usability.

We work with trusted partners, offset our carbon emissions, and continuously look for ways to reduce waste. When your Liftbag® reaches the end of its life, you can send it back to us — and we’ll give it a new one. Because better products should also mean a better planet.
